National Automotive Design and Development Council said it will collaborate with Oando Clean Energy on vehicle electrification. Nigeria’s automobile regulator disclosed this information in a statement on its LinkedIn account. NADDC noted that the partnership would be a significant step towards decarbonizing Nigeria’s public transport system and embracing sustainable transportation solutions, particularly through the adoption of hydrogen-powered vehicles.
Executive Vice President at Oando Clean Energy, Ademola Ogumbanjo, clarified the urgency of transitioning towards renewable energy sources to strengthen energy security in Africa. Director-General of NADDC, Joseph Osanipin, expressed appreciation for the initiative, stressing that the collaboration would address pressing environmental concerns and advance the automotive industry within Africa.
